My HP7 predictions
Filed Under 42 (Life the Universe & Everything) on September 22, 2005 at 3:46 pm
Well, I’ve had a blog for a few months now and have surprised myself by
not having any HP posts at all. Well, it couldn’t last forever could it!
Now, I was not one those sad people who queued up at midnight to get HP6 the
second it came out. No, I was one of those sadder people who waited
till 1:30am to nip down to the 24 hour Tesco’s to pick up a copy on the
night it came out but without the queues!
When I got the book Idid of course read it but then I also went further and re-read all the
books from book one right up to and including book six again. I just
finished this last night so I guess now would be a good time to put my
money where my mouth is and make my predictions for HP7.
- Firstly, DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD! I actually think I should dedicate an entire ‘rant’ post to this fact because those silly people who insist on deluding themselves that he is still alive annoy me immensely!
- Secondly, Dumbledore had a ‘big plan’ and Snape killing Dumbledore was a part of that plan.
- Thirdly, Snape still has a big part to play in this story and he will be instrumental in the final victory of good over evil.
- Fourthly, Draco Malfoy still has a part to play in the story and he will also help good triumph over evil.
- Fifthly, Harry will defeat Voldemort and he will live to tell the tale. JK Rowling is not Shakespeare!
- And finally, Hermione and Ron will stay together and Harry will get back together with Ginny.
So, now we just have to wait two years to see just how wrong I am!
Wormtail + Polyjuice = Dumbledore?
This is a crazy theory and most likely to be proven wrong, but me and my roommate have had some fun with this one of the last few years. Okay, so on page 23 JKR mentions Wormtail and his magical RIGHT hand. There is no need for Wormtail to be mentioned at all, but there he is. The only thing it serves is to show that he is in Snape’s home and that Snape has access to him. (Reread chapter 2 and you’ll see how pointless it is to have him there.) Dumbledore’s burnt/wounded RIGHT hand was mentioned 20 times by my count (pages 48, 58, 61, 67, 165, 199, 216, 258, 350, 440, 494, 503, 505, 509, 556, 558, 559, 562, 567, and 577). On page 595 Dumbledore starts to plead with Snape. After observing Dumbledore all these years, this seems a little odd. Dumbledore does not seem like the sort of person that would plead. But maybe that’s just me. Then on page 625 Hagrid moves Dumbledore’s body. On page 643 Hagrid brings the body out to the funneral already wrapped up. Do you see what’s going on yet? So, what would happen to wormtail’s magic hand if he were to drink Polyjuice Potion? Would it look normal or dead? Would it look dead because the hand isn’t really alive anymore? Just a thought. And Wormtail is the sort of person who would plead (he pleaded with Harry in book three.) And about Hagrid moving Dumbledore’s body. He moved it quite soon after the fall, and he is the only one that we know of who saw the body. In book three, Dumbledore says that he would trust Hagrid with his life. So did he trust Hagrid with the secret that Wormtail was under the influence of the Imperius Curse and/or the effects of Polyjuice Potion? Hagrid would then be the only one that saw the body as Wormtail and not Dumbledore. The order to move the body did come from McGonagall, but then during the second book Dumbledore trusted his love, Hogwarts of course, in McGonagall’s hands, so why wouldn’t he trust her with this? And as to the apperance of Dumbledore’s portrait, on page 629 if Dumbledore was to go through the trouble of doing all of this wouldn’t he think of everything? He is Dumbledore after all.
when dumbledore set little vodemorts wardrobe on fire and when he put it out the wardrobe wasnt harmed.when dumbledores body went on fire harry thought he saw a phoenix fly off somewhere and then the white coffin appeared.when snape avada kadavrad dumbledore fawkes could have been in dumbledores cloak and got hit by it.this would explain the shroud bursting into flames as it would mean fawkes was reborn also explaining the sudden appearence of fawkes singing and the way harry thought he saw a phoenix bursting from dds body.then dumbledore could have trasfigured the shroud into a white tomb to give the impression that he was dead so malfoy wouldnt be killed by voldemort for not killing dd. dd wouldnt want malfoy dead and malfoy revealed that he HAD to kill dd or else voldemort would kill him,dd also said to malfoy to come to the good side. i also think dd stupified harry so that he could watch what happened and figure what im saying out later on

a lot of weird theorys that are most likely all wrong but i have a fun imagination

Hi Penance,
Thanks for the comment. It’s certainly an interesting theory and what makes it cool is that I can’t think of anything to disprove it. I don’t think it is true mind because I think Dumbledore’s death is going to form a part of his master-plan that will beat Voldemort once and for all. Afterall, he did just look at life as the next great adventure!
I’ll be re-reading book 6 soon (just before 7 comes out) so I’m gonna keep this theory in mind and see what complexion that puts on things.
I’m going to miss the theories when book 7 is out and we finally know what happens.
